Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Calvário

This sanctuary dates back to the 19th century, and was only completed in the 20th century. It offers a unique panoramic view over the valley of the River Minho. The highest part of the stairway has four chapels of the Passion, representing the Lord of the Garden, Ecce Homo, the Lord of Good Death, the Lady of Anguish and the Lord of the Steps, culminating in the churchyard of the baroque church, built in the second half of the 18th century.
