Enclosure of the Convent of Refóios do Lima

Founded in 1094 by the Canons Regular of St. Augustine, it joined the Congregation of Santa Cruz de Coimbra in the 16th century. Many renovations were carried out over the centuries and the enclosure is today owned by the municipality of Ponte de Lima and managed by the Escola Superior Agrária (Agrarian School) of Ponte de Lima (IPVC), inaugurated in 1992. The enclosure is accessed through the churchyard, inviting a walk through the gardens and the cloisters. Past the eastern part of the complex, there is a vegetable garden and vineyards, cornfields, an olive tree grove and the meadows.
