Casa do Cruzeiro

A long avenue of olive trees with a cross at the beginning leads to a terrace with the chapel of Our Lady of Mercy. Here, a main gate leads to a walled inner terrace with the house turned southward, which dates from the 17th century. Behind the house, a new patio adjoining the boxwood garden serves as the dining room, as a place for growing roses and as a belvedere over Ponte de Lima and the valley. It gives access to the upper levels where the orchard, vegetable garden and "matinha” (woodland thicket) are located.
