Thermal Park of Melgaço

Thermal Park of Peso Knowledge of the virtues of Melgaço’s waters dates back to the late 19th century. A peaceful place, with dense and diverse trees, the park is crossed by the Ribeira da Folia. It features the Main Fountain, a large iron-framed Art Nouveau pavilion built in 1909, and the baths, which were completed in 1924, when the landscape gardener Jacintho de Mattos (d. 1948) outlined the park as a continuation of the tree-planting previously started.
