Thermal Park of Caldas de Monção

The thermal spa of Monção is located next to the town walls, on the left bank of the river Minho. The thermal water has been exploited since the 17th century, but the primitive spa dates back to the end of the 19th century/ beginning of the 20th century, with the new spa built in the 1990s. It is a small park, also known as the Park of Dr. António José de Pinho Júnior, structured by a cedar and lime tree avenue that connects to the old spa and is flanked by small resting areas.
