Paço de Vitorino

In Vitorino das Donas we find a curious quinta do recreio (recreational estate) from the Alto Minho region that has been referenced since the 16th century. Accessed by a path of remarkable oaks, cork oaks and plane trees, it culminates in a large courtyard with a chapel and a doorway leading to a large patio. To the right of the house are the gardens, organised in a succession of small walled gardens that were once vegetable plots, orchards and olive groves, with the collection of camellias, the monumental fountain with statues and the entire waterway system standing out.
