Garden of Villa Moraes
In the late 19th century, João Francisco de Morais acquired land around the Convent of Santo António, close to the town centre of Ponte de Lima. He built a palace in the site in 1907. In 1920, the building and gardens underwent further interventions and the estate continued in the possession of his descendants until 1960. Passing through the entrance gate, there is an ascending path, flanked by wide flower beds, that leads to the house. Today the garden harbours several centuries-old trees. To the west of the house there is a lake with a grotto and a belvedere. The house of the Castle is located next to the greenhouse.
