Enclosure of the Convent of Val de Pereiras
About 1 km from Ponte de Lima, the Quinta do Convento de Val de Pereiras is located at the foothills of Monte de Santo Ovídio. It now functions as a guest house, with an extensive area of vineyards and woodlands. The farm is located on the former enclosure of a Franciscan convent, built in 1360, which, in 1515, ceased to operate as a male convent and instead became a community of the Second Order (Poor Clares). Despite having suffered many transformations throughout the 20th century, the enclosure remains a walled space, whose structure can still be clearly discerned.
